Medicine:
The powdered or dried root of the plant was used to sooth lung ailments including asthmatic and bronchial spasms. Note: Associated with the circle of life. Buds form on the plant in the fall, beneath dead growth. In the early spring the plant generates enough heat to thaw the ground so the plant can push up through last years growth.
