Ingredients

  • 1 cup raw wild rice
  • 1/4 tsp. sage
  • 3 cups chicken broth*
  • 1/4 tsp thyme
  • 1 cup diced celery
  • 1/4 cup minced onion
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 4 oz, can mushrooms (or 1/3 lb. fresh mushrooms)
  • 1/3 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper

Directions

*You can make chicken broth by dissolving 3 chicken bouillon cubes in 3 cups of boiling water, or you can use canned broth. Follow the basic preparation in Method 1. Substitute boiling chicken broth for the water in preparing the rice. Sauté celery, onion, and mushrooms (if fresh) in butter for 2-3 minutes, combine all ingredients. Make about 6 cups, or enough dressing for a 10lb turkey.
